Exploring the True Meaning<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Last summer, on a sunny day, I set out to find a nail salon for a pedicure. Along the way, I stumbled upon a salon promoting a holistic approach. As the owner of a holistic beauty spa, I naturally gravitate towards holistic practices, so I decided to give it a try and booked an appointment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is Holistic anyway?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Holistic, by definition, means whole, not partial. It encompasses at least three elements: Mind, Body, and Soul. These elements are interconnected, emphasizing the importance of caring for the mind and soul as much as the body for optimal health and beauty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Holistic equals Natural?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Initially, I mistakenly associated holistic with natural. However, my visit to the salon proved otherwise. Despite claiming a holistic approach, the salon fell short of being natural. The essential oils used for the foot bath had a stale and synthetic scent, and the massage lacked warmth, with a lotion that didn’t feel natural. The overall experience lacked a warm welcome, and staff seemed indifferent to my concerns about the drying process. Despite giving my technician a generous tip, she remained engrossed in conversation as I left.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In essence, the salon failed to embody true holistic or natural principles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Holistic Therapies and Nature<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Holistic therapies often involve natural practices such as acupuncture or alternative medicines. Activities like yoga and meditation, which are considered holistic, tend to align with vegetarian or vegan lifestyles and natural approaches, though not universally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Shift in Perception<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Lately, I’ve noticed more medical offices promoting a “holistic approach” or holistic dental care. While it may sound natural, it doesn’t necessarily translate to being entirely natural. It’s crucial to discern whether these claims are genuine or mere marketing strategies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our approach at Puresthetique<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

How Do We Do It?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At Puresthetique<\/a>, we focus on multiple sensory stimulations – relaxation for the mind, touch for the body, and aromas or sounds for the soul. We take pride in handcrafting most of our products in-house and collaborate with local, organic small-batch manufacturers. From makeup remover to post-care serums and disinfectants, we adhere to the Clean Beauty standard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
